This Privacy Policy applies to the official website and platform of the Tangaza Local Government Students Union (TALSUUDUS), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Chapter ("the union", "we", "us"). It explains what information we collect from members and visitors, and how it is used.

Depending on how you interact with the platform, we may collect:

• Membership details — name, course of study, academic level, phone number, and a photo, provided during registration or the members' consent process.
• Members Directory listing — your name, course, level, and contact details as displayed publicly to other logged-in members for union purposes.
• Study Vault activity — files you upload, and account details (email) if you create an account to contribute materials.
• Usage data — basic technical information such as device type and browser, used only to keep the site working properly.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To maintain an accurate members directory for union administration and communication.
• To verify membership and dues status as set out in the union constitution.
• To allow members to find and connect with fellow union members by course or level.
• To operate shared resources such as the Study Vault.
• To share important announcements and updates with members.

4. Your Photo & Consent

Photos used in the Members Directory are collected with member consent as part of the registration process. If you did not consent to having your photo or details listed, or wish to have them removed or corrected, use the "Report incorrect info" link on your profile or contact an executive officer directly.

5. Who Can See Your Information

The Members Directory is intended for fellow TALSUUDUS members and union administration — not the general public. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.

6. Data Storage

Member and platform data is stored using third-party services including Firebase and Cloudinary. While we take reasonable steps to keep information secure, no online platform can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You may request to see, correct, or remove your information from the platform at any time by contacting the union through the Leadership page or the WhatsApp community.

8. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time as the platform evolves. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
